MNS gives 48-hour deadline for Pakistani actors to leave India, calls for ban on Raees, ADHM
All was well in the entertainment industry in India and Pakistan, until the Uri attacks which killed 18 soldiers. The tension is only increasing with each passing day as probe agencies reportedly recovered weapons from the attack site which had the Pakistani insignia. While Prime Minister Narendra Modi has promised the families of the martyrs and people of India that the attack won’t go unanswered, MNS is doing its own bit to threaten Pakistan.
In the latest development, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has openly threatened all Pakistani actors and artists who are working in India to leave the country in the next 48 hours, or they will be ‘pushed out’. MNS leader Amey Khopkar, chief of MNS’s cinema workers’ unit Chitrapat Karamchari Sena, told news agency ANI, “Pakistani artists will be beaten up if they don’t leave, and we will also beat up whichever director and producer is with them.”
It doesn’t end here. MNS is also demanding a ban on films Ae Dil Hai Mushkil which has Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in a cameo and Raees, which has Pakistani actress Mahira Khan in the lead, or ‘face consequences’. This is not the first time political parties have targeted Pakistani artists in India. Earlier, Shiv Sena had targeted noted ghazal singer Ghulam Ali and also Mekaal Hasan. Even cricket has not been spared from this hatred as Shiv Sena also threatened to create a ruckus in a T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan.
We guess Ajay Devgn must be having a laugh right now (because of the clash of his film Shivaay with Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil).
