So, not many of us really know much about art, right? But almost all of us know of some works of arts, and ten to one, most of us have seen images of Leonardo da Vinci’s iconic Mona Lisa. Art history and culture theory juries are still out on what made the Mona Lisa such a hit, and why she continues to command the stature she does in the world of art. Meanwhile, however, a bunch of brilliant folks around the world have been creating their own mind-boggling versions.

These are not just your standard facetious take-offs, the kind that give the classic beauty a moustache, a veil, a daffy duck beak, monocles, or – yes, indeed, there’s that too – double D breasts and blonde hair. And British gardener Ashley Spencer trimmed a Mona Lisa into his backyard. At the point this pic was shot, I think he really needed to shave her beard away pronto (err, how else do we describe that fuzz under her chin??), but… you get what I mean!
