Mughal-E-Azam is a Bollywood cult classic from 1960 that swept all the major awards of the time. Salim-Anarkali’s jodi is still one of the most popular romantic pairs in Bollywood.

The beautiful Anarkali, who was made immortal on the screen by actress Madhubala, is all set to make a comeback! Late producer-director Sultan Ahmed, who had assisted the director K. Asif on the magnanimous project, had developed a script for a sequel immediately after the release of the epic love saga, and had also started working on the project in 1971.

Now, Ahmed’s wife Farah will revive his dream project which is tentatively titled Anarkali Ki Wapasi. She announced that she would modify the script to make it more relevant to modern times.

If things go as planned, this would be THE sequel of the century!
