Mumbai police busted a prostitution racket and arrested a model called Rekha Vaishnav after they raided a brothel that was being run under the guise of a production house.

Based on a tip-off from an NGO, the police raided the ‘production house’ called  V R Entertainment in Versova. The officers posed as customers before raiding the flat and rescuing two women.

“The arrested model has acted in few low budget movies as well, and she lured struggling models to her office by offering them roles in low budget movies, and after taking them into confidence, she trapped them in the prostitution racket,” said police officer D S Patil from the Versova police station.

“We have recovered more than 100 photos of different models, and most of them are from outside Mumbai. The arrested model was earning good money from them. Most businessmen and known faces from Bollywood were in touch with her, it has been found in the investigation,” Patil added.

Rekha has been arrested and booked under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA). The model also faces charges under relevant sections of the IPC for forcing girls into prostitution.
