To support the rebels fighting Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) forces in Syria, US President Barack Obama will announce deployment of 250 more American military personnel according to media reports that quoted White House’s senior administration official.

Obama, who is currently on a visit to Germany, is expected to make the announcement at the Hannover trade fair prior to the meeting with European leaders, as he wraps up his week-long trip abroad.

250 soldiers will join the present 50-member US military personnel fighting against ISIS in Syria.

The official said, “The president has authorized a series of steps to increase support for our partners in the region, including Iraqi security forces as well as local Syrian forces who are taking the fight to ISIL.”

Obama pressed for the parties involved in the Syrian conflict to return to the negotiating table to reinstate ceasefire status.

While addressing a news conference in Germany, Obama said, “I spoke to (Russian) President Vladimir Putin early last week to try to make sure that we could reinstate the cessation of hostilities.”  The bombardments by both ISIS regime and rebels claimed 26 lives in Syria on 24 April.
