Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Sardaar Gabbar Singh’ slated for release on 8 April

Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s action film Sardaar Gabbar Singh, directed by K S Ravindra, is slated for a worldwide release on 8 April in both Telugu and Hindi. The film is a sequel to the 2012 blockbuster Gabbar Singh. The film’s audio will be launched on 20 March.

Pawan Kalyan said in a statement, “Sardaar Gabbar Singh has a universal story with a sensibility that should appeal to audiences pan India. Filmmaking cannot be confined to a certain area or demographics and our film attempts a unique connect with India, especially the Hindi belt.”

The film is about the maverick police officer Gabbar Singh who is posted at Ratanpur—situated at the borders of Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. According to Sunil Lulla, the managing director of Eros International, non-Telugu audience too will certainly relate to the film’s theme. There’s a lot of positive buzz around the film’s promos and Sunil hopes that the film will receive a wider appeal.

Kajal Aggarwal, one of the top heroines in the Telugu film industry, will be seen with Pawan Kalyan for the first time. Shruti Hasan had played the lead heroine in Gabbar Singh. The film will also feature Sharad Kelkar and Kabir Duhan Singh.

Sardar Gabbar Singh will compete with several big-budget films that are slated for a summer release, including Mahesh Babu’s Brahmotsavam and Allu Arjun’s Sarainodu.
