Pelé’s biopic slated for release on 6 May!

There isn’t a single football fan who does not admire the Brazilian football legend Pelé. But not many of us are aware of his struggle to the top.

Football fans can now relive Edson Arantes do Nascimento aka Pelé’s journey through a film based on the legendary footballer when it hits the theatres on 6 May.

The film titled Pelé: Birth of a Legend would be made available online as video on demand a week after its release. Directors Michael Zimbalist and Jeff Zimbalist themselves have written the film. Indian music maestro A R Rahman has composed the music for the film.

The film troubled with post-production issues was scheduled for release before the 2014 World Cup. Now that the trailer is out, the footballing world is quite ecstatic!

The film tells Pelé’s life story—from humble beginnings to leading Brazil to its first ever World Cup victory in 1958.

Pelé is widely credited for inspiring the Brazilian team to win their maiden World Cup at the age of 17 and subsequently beginning the ‘the golden age’ of Brazilian football.
