PM flays Rahul Gandhi, seeks cooperation of opposition for good of the nation

“Some people never grow up even as they get older,” said Prime Minister Narendra Modi taking a dig at Congress vice president, Rahul Gandhi who ‘mocked’ ruling NDA during his speech in the Parliament on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday urged the opposition to let the parliament function smoothly for the benefit of people. 

In a motion of thanks to President Pranab Mukherjee’s opening address to the budget session of parliament, Modi knocked down Rahul’s arguments vilifying BJP .

The scion of Gandhi family tried to lash out the Modi and his cabinet by picking out a range of issues including domestic economy, MNREGA, EPF and Rohith Vemula. 

PM in a scathing rebuttal underscored that the opposition suffers form inferiority complex and is concerned about how BJP led government is doing better than them.

A seemingly sarcastic PM observed that opposing Congress is quite finicky about other ‘smart’ MPs in their brigade. He said that the Congress leadership does not want MPs from other smaller parties to speak up in parliament as it fears they would outshine Rahul Gandhi when it comes to ideation.

“Parliament is not being allowed to function smoothly because of an inferiority complex. Opposition is not allowing some MPs speak in Parliament. Some MPs from smaller parties are not even getting opportunity to speak,”

To Rahul’s jibe on PM’s vision of MNREGA, he said that if there was no poverty in India, there wouldn’t have been a need of the employment scheme.

No one will deny that if Congress had helped the poor in 60 years, the poor wouldn’t still be facing trouble,” PM said.

“We are mocking things like ‘Make in India’? This is for the nation. If there are flaws it may be shared and discussed”

Raising laughter in the house with Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi himself on the floor, he said that some would not understand despite honest attempts to make them understand.

‘”Some never grows as they get older,” PM said.

PM extended assurance on GST bill

“GST Bill is yours, now it is being stopped,” PM hinted the non-cooperation staged by Congress leaders.

“I want to share my thoughts, not as the PM but as someone who is new to Parliament ,” he added.

“I am saying all these because people must know that there bills passed here but they have been forced to stop thereafter,” he went on to say.

Referring to the speeches and thoughts of first prime minister of the nation, late Jawaharlal Nehru, he urged the opposition to maintain decorum in the houses for the benefit of people.

“I appeal to entire opposition that passage of important bills in both Houses of Parliament are essential. Bills are to passed for the benefit of people. It will free the system from clutches of middlemen.”

“House is a place where debates are to take place, but if boundaries are maintained during a debate then it is fruitful,” PM quoted former prime minister, late Rahul Gandhi.
