Ram Gopal Varma is infamous for his straightforward, controversial, and sometimes hilarious statements. From talking about actress Sridevi’s thighs to making outrageously sexist remarks about an Assamese BJP MLA, the director has repeatedly received flak for his lack of respect for women.
In a recent interview, Varma stirred up another controversy when he spoke about his ‘ideal woman’. The topic was an extension of a statement he’d made in an earlier interview in which he said that he found women’s buttocks attractive. When asked to clarify, Ramu said, “I said that for effect, I don’t actually mean it.” He then added, “The most important thing for me; my ideal woman is who will just listen to me without talking, because then I can enjoy her face more than anything else. Her ideas may kind of demean or bring down the quality of her face, its visual appeal.”
He even went on to compare his “ideal woman” to Niagara falls and said, “If I’m looking at Niagara falls and the falls start talking to me about her neighbor’s dog, it won’t work the same way. So, it’s like that.”
At this rate, we really doubt that Varma will find his “ideal woman”!
