Research student from Andhra found dead in Tel Aviv

Indian research student at Tel Aviv University was found dead in his room in Israel capital, Tel Aviv on Monday. According to reports, the deceased was identified as Raj Kumar Raja, 27, from Kuppam in Andhra Pradesh.

Raj Kumar was doctoral candidate for cancer studies at the university.

“An investigation found no suspicion of a crime and the student’s body has been transferred to the forensic institute for an autopsy,” PTI quoted a police spokesman in Tel Aviv.

According to reports, Raja did not attend his lab on Monday.

University staff found Raj lying in his room after he failed to respond to telephone calls.

The police and the emergency staff who arrived at the scene confirmed his death.

“The police is currently examining the situation, and the university is still waiting to receive the official police report,” Orna Cohen, Tel Aviv University spokesperson said to a source.

It remains to be seen what the cause of death was, as the authorities are still waiting for the autopsy report.
