Anushka Shetty’s much-awaited ‘Rudramadevi hits theatres today, giving tough competition to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer Jazbaa. Only time will tell us which movie will be remembered longer.

1. 3d historic film
‘Rudhramadevi’ is regarded as the first Indian 3D historic film. Directed by Gunasekhar of Arya fame, the movie is being made with a budget of ₹50 crore.

Anushka Shetty has played the role of Rudramadevi, a revered warrior queen of the Kakatiya dynasty during 13th century. Anushka looks stunning in the trailer that portrays her in an action sequence and dialogue delivery. Earlier, Anushka had played lead role in fantasy film `Arundhati’. She is currently working in another magnum opus `Bahubali’.
3. Rana Daggubati

In this movie, Rana has played the role of Chalukya Veerabhadra, the husband of Rudramadevi. Veerabhadra, who hails from the eastern Chalukya dynasty, has fought many battles along with wife Rudramadevi. Rana looks dashing in this role.
Allu Arjun’s portrayal of Gona Ganna Reddy, a local ruler, is a visual treat. Gunashekhar is said to have approached Mahesh Babu for this role, but he had denied it. Looks like Allu Arjun is the right choice for the role.
5. Nithya Menon and Catherine Thresa
While Catherine Tresa plays the role of Princess Annambika, Gona Ganna Reddy’s wife. Nithya Menon is donning the role of warrior prince ‘Mummidamma’. Nithya has taken training in sword fighting and horse riding for the film. Both the actresses are said to be seen in a special song also.
6. Baba Sehgal
Rapper Baba Sehgal is playing the role of Naga Devudu, a historic personality during the period of Kakatiya dynasty. Earlier, he had debuted in Chiranjeevi starrer ‘Rikshavodu’. Apart from him, Prakash Raj, Krishnam Raju and Adithya Menon are also starring in the movie.
7. Sets
The team has reportedly spent about Rs.15 crores on building 12 grand sets. Noted art director ‘Padmasri’ Thota Tharani drew nearly 400 sketches for building grand sets.
