Run Kerala Run: When one-third of a state ran with Sachin Tendulkar
Kerala added another feather to its cap this week when one third of the state jogged with Sachin Tendulkar as part of Run Kerala Run, a mass marathon to promote the 35th National Games.

The master blaster is also the goodwill ambassador for the games, which is being held in the state from 31 January to 15 February.

The mass run was a first-of-its kind in the country and it is estimated that over one crore people took to the streets to take part in it.

The state even gave a one-hour break to all government schools and offices to ensure more participation.

Overwhelmed by the warm welcome from Malayalees, Sachin said that Kerala always held a special place in his heart.

The mass marathon, ranging from 200m to 1 km, was held at more than 10,000 locations, all at the same time.

Although Sachin was supposed to run 1km in the race, he ran only 200m due to security reasons.

Various political parties of the state came together to express their solidarity with the games and made it a remarkable event.

Sachin said that he is sure that Malayalees would extend huge support to the games, like how they stood for his team, Kerala Blasters.

Sachin fans went crazy when the legendary cricketer arrived at the stadium and the police had a tough time controlling them.

However, Sachin stayed cool and relaxed. He even paused for a selfie with his fans.
