How Samantha Ruth Prabhu became both sizzler and star performer
While the Eega actress has impressed with her acting prowess she’s also been upping her glamour quotient. Here’s how:
The pretty Samantha made a splash in her very first film, Ye Maaya Chesave by Gautham Menon. The film, the Telugu version of Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaya, also won her Best Female Debut Award.

The actress pulled off another fine performance in her first film Baana Kathadi opposite Atharva. In the lacklustre Moscowin Kavery that followed Samantha was said to be one of the film’s few redeeming features.

To be noticed in Telugu, actresses simply have to team up with the top heroes and that’s exactly what Samantha went on to do. She starred opposite Mahesh Babu in the blockbuster Dookudu and Samantha, the glam gal, arrived on the scene.
Smart enough not to be typecast as a mere hunk accessory, Samantha’s performance in Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, starring Mahesh Babu and Venkatesh, came in for praise.
Samantha also impressed with a superb performance in S.S Rajamouli’s Eega, (Naan Ee in Tamil). The film about a fly on a revenge mission in which Samantha had plenty of screen time was a huge commercial success as well.

The actress proved her talent again in Jabardasth, based on the Bollywood hit, Band Baaja Baraat. In the film she was cast opposite Siddharth, with whom she has also been romantically linked.
Last year, Samantha went for full-on oomph. In fact, the quip in Chennai about Suriya-starrer Anjaan was that ‘Samantha virtually carried Anjaan on her thighs,’ referring, of course, to her hotpants wardrobe.

Samantha seems to know how to play it in the male-dominated South film industry. Last year, she also was cast opposite Vijay in the big ticket Katthi.
Samantha’s glamorous on-screen image makes her popular for endorsements. Quite the youth icon, she’s recently been roped in as brand ambassador for Maaza.
