‘Vayyaveli’ in Malayalam means trouble or rather trouble that resulted a thoughtless act. Anyhow, it seems like the prime accused in ‘solar scam’ – Saritha S Nair has sarcastically put the word into use in a promotional music video of her upcoming movie ‘Vayyaveli’ which is directed by V V Santhosh.
Saritha has made much of a commotion in Kerala with her graft allegations against chief minister Oommen Chandy and his cabinet mates. In the video Saritha is seen to be dancing to tunes of the song ‘Vayyaveli’. In what it cannot be seen as unintentional, lyrics of the music video have sneering references to bigwigs whom she have been targeting in connection with ‘solar scam’.

Viewers of the music video would be able to relate its lyrics to the existing political scenarios in Kerala, or at least to those rumoured gossips about chief minister and his colleagues.
When translated it says, “times when fence itself eats the harvest, when times get lost in speed (referred to ‘Athivegam Bahudooram’ tagline adopted by Kerala government?) and times when anything can bought with money.”
When certain parts of the lyrics were read together with sexual harassment charges levelled by Saritha against prominent politicians, the music video turns out be even damning.
‘Madhura Naaranga kadichu thinnana kaalam…chila nerangalil kaipaninja kaalam…chila paambukalku gajaraja yogam’. Folomojo, however, refrains from translating this part and leaves it to the wits of readers.
As she pretends to be a less ambitious player in ‘solar scam’ in her video, it also tries to shed light on the extent of malice intended by alleged big players.
For all the present fuss surrounding her, it would not be anything more than sheer fun to view her as a ‘thug life’ fan. Know why? Despite having caught in the eye of ‘solar’ storm, it looks she has embraced ‘one heck of whistleblower’ status with her brazen appearance in ‘Vayyaveli’.
The video has already gone viral with as many as 2.6 lakh views since its release in Youtube last week.
