Sapna Moti Bhavnani, the celebrity stylist who became a hashtag a few months back when she talked about her real-life incident of being gang-raped at the age of 24, has never stammered to call a spade a spade.
While she is mainly known for her bold and daring personal styles, this time she is again in news for her strong reaction to Shiv Sena’s ink attack on writer and organiser Sudheendra Kulkarni. Protesting against former Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri’s book launch in Mumbai, Sena activists affronted Kulkarni and painted his face with black ink.
Bhavnani sees this incident as a taint on our democracy. She is ‘ashamed’ of such unruly behaviour and calls the Prime Minister down for sitting silent on this issue.
