In a shocking and shameful act of incompetence, Jet Airways denied entry to two national shooters, Anjali Bhagwat and Heena Sidhu, who were on their way back to India from Korea.

In a detailed Facebook post, Heena Sidhu described the entire incident and slammed the Airline giant for its disregard for rules and complete disrespect towards national heroes. According to her post, the official in charge cited ‘incomplete paperwork’ with regards to the weapons the athletes were carrying even though they had all the necessary documents and clearances.

The athletes were then made to wait for 9 hours at the airport, and later forced to take an alternate flight back home. Here’s Sidhu’s complete post.

But it’s difficult to believe the Airlines’ version of the story considering the fact that the athletes had no trouble travelling in the previous connecting flight from Busan to Bangkok with the same documents.

Given the history of airline staffs across India and the general lack of knowledge and disregard for sports other than cricket, it’s difficult not to be angered by the airline’s sloppy work and sympathise with the two Indian sportswomen.
