Shocking! Report reveals doctors in Delhi are ‘curing’ homosexuality in ruthless ways

A recent report published in India Today reveals that numerous doctors in the nation’s capital are practicing an outrageous act of ‘curing’ homosexuals. Alarmingly, for these doctors homosexuality is a mental disorder and can be treated for a tidy amount!

According to the Mail Today investigation, these doctors use a ‘series of dubious procedures – giving electric shocks or nausea-inducing drugs, prescribing testosterone or talk therapy – which can lead to depression, anxiety, seizures, drug use and suicidal tendencies.’

In a narrative published on the website, Sangeeth Sebastian recounts how his sister took him to a ‘leading psychiatrist’ in Delhi to cure him of his homosexuality. In what could be termed merciless and inhuman torture, the psychiatrist subjected Sangeeth to electric shocks through his skull.

According to Sangeeth, he received 21 shock treatments in three months. This made him dizzy and nauseatic all the time. He also struggled to talk properly. However, all this torture did very little to change is orientation!

Reacting to this expose, people have expressed shock and strongly condemned such immoral practices.

However, this report is not the first to reveal India’s outlook towards the LGBT community.

One would recall Baba Ramdev’s petition comparing homosexuals to “other anti-social groups” and his claim that legalisation would have a “negative effect” on the young, while increasing the prevalence of HIV/Aids.

His petition clearly highlights our country’s conservative attitude towards homosexuality and this recent investigative report only reaffirms the terrifying harshness of the lives of LGBT people in India.
