It seems as though there is only one way of settling disputes with finality in the national capital.

This incident occurred in the Vasant Kunj area in Delhi.
Hardeep, a journalist by profession, was at his residence on the first floor while a party was underway on the floor below. As the noise levels increased, he went over and requested Rinku, the gym owner to turn down the music.

Rinku wasn’t too happy about the request, and disagreements soon lead to a brawl. Hardeep later chose to return to his home, seeing  his requests were falling on deaf ears. Soon after, the inebriated gym owner with some of his friends followed Hardeep to his flat to ‘settle’ the matter – and settle he did, once and for all. Rinku and his friends reportedly beat up Hardeep, and Rinku soon pulled out a gun and shot Hardeep on his stomach. The accused threatened Hardeep’s friends as well before fleeing the scene of crime.

Hardeep’s friend took him to the hospital when help failed to arrive despite calling an ambulance. He reportedly breathed his last at the hospital.

How does one justify loss of life for matters so trivial? What is it that cost 30 year old Hardeep his life? Loud music? It cannot be.
How do you tell a set of elderly parents that their only son was shot dead by a drunk neighbor who took offense to his requests for turning down volume?
