Spirit of Mumbai gets a thumbs up again! Sikh volunteers feed flood-affected Mumbaikars
For those who’ve always thought the ‘Spirit of Mumbai’ is an overrated concept, here’s something that will prove you wrong.
Sikh organisations Khalsa Aid and Shri Guru Singh Sabha came forward on Friday (June 19) to help commuters battling the deluge in Mumbai, especially those stranded at Dadar station after train services were disrupted owing to the heavy downpour in the city.
Soon, pictures of volunteers from the 2 NGOs serving Langar (hot meal) to the flood-affected Mumbaikars went viral, with people praising and applauding their efforts.

This is, however, not the first time these Sikh organisations have extended their support to humanity. Earlier this year when a horrifying earthquake rattled Nepal, thousands of volunteers from the Sikh Aid organisation participated in the relief work.
Here’s to these courageous men and of course the undying spirit of Mumbai!
