The on-screen friends will be seen in two separate blocks as they seek mandates from their audience in the upcoming state assembly polls. Mukesh, Jagadish and Siddique had already committed to contest in the elections. Ashokan too recently joined the bandwagon saying: Then why not me?

Ironically, his decision to enter politics reminds us of the famous dialogue from the film “Thomaskutty Vittodaa” that the former trio says to Ashokan (Thomaskutty in the film) when they typically get into trouble.

CPM may field Mukesh (Mahadevan in the film) in the Eravipuram assembly constituency, Kollam. The Congress hopes to field Jagadish (Appukuttan in the film) in Pathanapuram against the Left candidate and actor K B Ganesh Kumar.

Congress may also field Siddique (Govindankutty in the film) in the Aroor assembly constituency, Alappuzha. And Alappuzha happens to be Ashokan’s native district!

Ashokan (Thomaskutty in the film) from Harihar Nagar colony too will now join the fray. Ashokan will contest for CPI in Haripad against incumbent home minister Ramesh Chennithala. Ashokan hails from Muthukulam, Alappuzha.
