The Hun: Why a half bun is the way to go this summer
Last year, No Shave November gave us something else, which made us obsess over our bearded counterparts – the man bun! Whether it was the regular low bun, or a top knot bun – the man bun became a hit instantly and many Hollywood hunks were seen sporting the hairstyle, before the man bun bug bit Bollywood celebs as well. Actors like Shahid Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana, Karan Kundra and Farhan Akhtar were seen sporting the man bun, or the “mun” on their casual and formal outings. Actor Kunal Kapoor went a step further when he posted a picture of himself sporting a chic braided mun, his new look in the upcoming movie Veeram.
And now, the man bun has found its better half with a feminine impression of the famous hairstyle. The half bun trend has caught on like wildfire with the ladies too. Be it an awards function or a promotional sprint, actresses too have been tossing their long locks up in a messy mini-bun. The half-up, half-loose hairstyle has become the latest style statement for celebs in Bollywood, with actresses like Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt and Sonam Kapoor stepping out with a hun!
Here’s how you can also wear a half bun in just three steps –
- Add some texture to your hair if it is straight by using a texturizing spray. If you do not have a spray or have wavy hair, simply backcomb it to add some texture or ruffle with your fingers.
- Select the top section f your hair, comb them together and tie them in a ponytail. Let your remaining locks fall loosely on your shoulders.
- Make a loop from the ponytail into a bun and secure it at the back with a bobby pin.
This casual, yet effortlessly cool updo is the hairstyle to sport this season. Take a cue from our Bollywood celebs and flaunt an uber cool halfie this summer!
