As Apple launches the new Apple Watch, we bring you its features in 9 points.

1. The new Apple Watch will be shipping out from April 24. India, it seems, will have to wait a little longer.

2. The Apple Watch will be available in three editions: Apple Watch Sport, Apple Watch and Apple Watch Gold.

3. The mass models will range between 20k and 25k in Indian rupees. And there’s one in gold for the uber rich that will set you back in lakhs.

4. According to Apple, the stainless steel used for the cases will be 80 per cent harder than normal through a specialised cold-forging process. The aluminum used in Apple Sport Watch will be 60 percent stronger than standard alloys but just as light.

5. Apple claims a battery life of 18 hours, which should last a typical day.

6. Apple Watch can be used, first and foremost, to make calls just like on your cellphone, but without reaching into your pocket.

7. Just like with your iPhone, you can do most things depending on the apps you have installed.  The watch can receive notifications, remind you of scheduled events, keep you abreast of social media and breaking news, read and send messages, pay through Apple Pay, etc. Available apps include Instagram, Facebook, Nike+Running, Open Table, Shazam, Twitter, WeChat, etc. As is the norm, the watch will be dependent on the apps that the developer community comes up with.

8. The Watch keeps time within 50 milliseconds of the highest global time standard. You can also configure your watch face to present time in a more personalised way to suit your life and schedule.

9. The Apple Watch can be your personal fitness tool. The three rings of the Activity app show your daily progress. There are real-time stats for the most popular workouts. Over a period, the watch internalises your activity and fitness levels and uses that information to improve the accuracy of your measurements and suggest personalised activity goals.
