Are you the Perfect Indian Woman? Want to be one? You may take a cue from Kanika Kaul, an artist based in Mumbai.

Her artworks put our perceived Ideal Indian Woman—the sari-clad lady who doesn’t dare defy her husband or, for that matter, any man– in the dock.

Here’s an eye-opener:

Mehndi means marriage means money. The more cash—and not love– you bestow upon your husband, the happier you will be. Remember, you are the male chauvinist swine’s cash cow.

FYI, akeli ladki khuli tijori ki tarah hoti he (The generous railway officer has given us enough free-gyan in the epic Jab We Met). Fetters are better!

Oblige even when you are beaten to purple. Kanika says, “What doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger. And if it does kill you, it’s because you asked for it.” Got it?

“You are more desirable when you shut up,” Kanika enlightens us again. So, that mouth is not to talk smart or give opinions, rather to plant kisses on your husband’s chest.

Scathingly wonderful!
