Have you ever found yourself in a new city, finding it extremely hard to speak to anyone, as you do not know the native language. This can be especially be challenging for frequent travelers, who would have to deal with this regularly.

Recognizing this awkward situation that people go through, Waverly Labs have come up with a solution – a small earpiece that will translate the language in real time. Meaning, when someone speaks to you in a language you don’t understand, the earpiece will translate it into a language you understand. Seams like something straight out of a science fiction movie doesn’t it?

Called as pilot, it comes with two separate earpieces that connect to your smartphone via Bluetooth. Users will first need to download an exclusive app that will allow them to toggle between languages and upload them in the earpiece. But, here’s the best part, the smartphone will store the language databases locally, so the app doesn’t need an Internet connection to work. As an added bonus, you can also stream music of your from your smartphone.

The wearable device is up for pre-order on the Indiegogo page at $199 (approx Rs.13360/-) and is pegged to start shipping from May 2017. Pilot will initially support English, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese  languages. The company plans to add more languages like Slavic, Semitic, Hindi, and East Asian a little later.
