This is how a bus driver stumbled upon a diamond worth Rs 17 lakh in Kurnool fields

Believe it or not, post rain the fields in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district turn into a diamond hunting ground. Every year people flock here in search of precious stones which sometimes show up after the rains peel off several layers of the earth. But not all diggers bring home the bacon.

This time, however, bus driver Ponnaiah, who came all the way from Prakasham, harvested a fortune from the diamond rich mining area in Jonnagiri village of Tuggali. He chanced upon the gem which is estimated to fetch him a whopping Rs 17 lakh.

After Ponnaiah got his jackpot, others who had thronged the place also began digging for their luck.

What a windfall!
