This is how girls are shaming ‘make-up haters’ by posting selfies of half-painted face
All you make-up haters who love to shame girls putting on make-up, here’s a girl to slam your face in a heap of rouge powder and rub it hard; smear it with concealer and when you give that ‘what’s-going-on’ look, dunk your mug in a pool of midnight-black eyeliner; when you fail to recognize yourself, jet it with cleansing water and paint it all over again with your most hated lippy colour until you say “I surrender”!
That’s how the video on the power of make-up by Nikkie Tutorials—created by 21-year-old Nikkie de Jager– boo all you cosmetics sceptics. But how beautifully! Check out the transformation:
She paints half her face and leaves the other half “raw, unedited”. The juxtaposition of two different types has triggered a debate worldwide. 17 million (and counting) people have watched it. And many of them have posted their selfies painting half of their face under the hashtag #ThePowerOfMakeup. The half-face challenge is taking the Internet by storm!

While the Internet is agog with passing jeers at make-up adoring girls, this girl has definitely taught us something. She feels make-up is not meant to woo boys and stave off insecurities. Make-up is not the symbol that you don’t love your natural self. It’s all about fun. There are no rules. When you feel like flashing red lips and crazy bold eyes, just go for it, so encourages the online beauty expert.
She also makes it a point that the Internet movement doesn’t force anything upon those who like to stay natural and raw. After all, it’s a personal choice.
Bonus: She shows us the hack and does it all as a duck takes to water.
