This right-wing party in Delhi believes only Donald Trump can save mankind

A few weeks before, presumptive US Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump had attacked American outsourcing to India by mocking the Indian accent during a rally in Delaware. But his apparent contempt for Indians doesn’t seem to affect the right-wing activists in Delhi who are praying—literally—for his victory.

A footage released by Reuters shows members of the Hindu Sena performing a spiritual ritual and anointing Trump’s forehead in a poster with tilak. “Going by the statements of Donald Trump, we believe he will be the lone protector of mankind,” Hindu Sena’s president Vishnu Gupta told Reuters.
It’s quite obvious why the group would support Trump sitting across the globe. One can opine that India’s Hindu nationalist movement has gained momentum now more than ever after the Bharatiya Janata Party came into power. Radical factions of the movement have been, in the past, linked to extreme violence against minorities in the country and Donald Trump’s comments on Islamist extremists only echo the movement’s sentiments.
