Shah Rukh Khan’s famous Chaiyya Chaiyya song from Dil Se is more than just another Bollywood number and this awesome bunch of musicians have just proved it why.

Music producer and filmmaker Kurt Schneider, Sam Tsui along with Vidya and the awesome Shankar Tucker have brought a contemporary boost to this cult song and given it a jazzy twist.

Gleeful to listen to, the song has all the elements that we see and expect in a Shankar Tucker’s composition. Even King Khan cannot stop raving about this video.

Shankar Tucker has always leaned towards India and its culture thanks to the influence of his family, who are ardent followers of spiritual guru Mata Amritanandamayi. Shankar, who plays a host of instruments like clarinet, tabla, kanjira, piano, bass and guitar,  was enamored by Indian classical music at a very early age.

Securing the Frank Huntington Beebe Fund to study music under flute maestro Hariprasad Chaurasia in Mumbai in 2010, he set foot in India. From there on, it was no turning back for Shankar.

After his apprenticeship under the legend, Shankar began what he called, the ShrutiBox series, which primarily focuses on mixing Indian classical songs with western music.

The ShrutiBox videos, which features a number of talented singers along with Shankar’s magical music, has carved a niche of its own and has attracted over 15 million views on YouTube.

Here are some more of Shankar’s other bouncy versions of popular movie songs. Enjoy!

We sure want more of this highly talented clarinetist, don’t we?
