This spoof of Tanu Weds Manu Returns crowns the real Queen

After enjoying the rom-com drama Tanu Weds Manu Returns, that certainly heralds the rise of girl power in the hitherto male-dominated film industry, get ready for some real fun. Shudh Desi Endings is never late to tickle our funny bone.

Their spoof Manu Needs Tanu pits the Queen—not to be mistaken there is currently only one Queen in Bollywood, and that’s Kangana Ranaut—against the Khans, the superheroes of the filmdom. And guess, who came out as the clear winner?

It takes a dig at the Khans in particular, and the male ego in general. The ones whose acting careers are g(r)o(w)ing south like gazars (carrots) too get a lashing. The best part is how the parody rounds off.

The denouement is no less a celebration of women empowerment where the lady protagonist replies to one such Khan (Rancho aka Aamir): “I don’t need Khan, I don’t need daan. I will make a name for Ranaut Khaandaan“.
