This woman will attempt a world record by driving solo from UK to India
Bharulata Kamble, an Indian origin woman from England will soon be attempting a world record by driving from UK to India, in a 75 day solo drive.She is to travel a total of 31,000 km, passing through two continents and 28 countries.
Kamble will commence her journey on July 16 from Luton, UK. She will be driving through 5,500 kms of mountains, reaching altitudes of 3700 meters above sea level and 2,500 kms of desert areas, before reaching the final point- Mahad in Raigad district, her’ in-laws’ hometown.
“I will be setting a ‘world record’ by completing the longest solo trans-continental car journey. The record will be observed and recorded by Guinness Book of World Records,” Bharulata said.
“I am doing this to raise funds for the provision of medical care for the poor and underprivileged in rural India. This drive also supports the cause ‘save the girl child’, and ‘women empowerment and education’ in India,” she added.
Devendra Fadnavis, the chief minister of Maharashtra has vowed to receive her, when she arrives at the destination. You can follow Bharulata Kamble here.
