Whenever the union law minister D V Sadananda Gowda travels to and from Delhi. he usually drinks a cup of green tea at the Bangalore International Airport (BIA).

But a ridiculously erroneous bill awaited him this time! He was stunned to receive a whopping 4 lakh bill for a cup of tea at the airport. “I usually just have a cup of green tea. This should not cost more than Rs 150, but I was shocked to know that fake bills running Rs 4 lakhs were made under my name,” Sadananda Gowda said.

Gowda has written a letter to the government of Karnataka and asked the state’s chief secretary to probe into the matter thoroughly to pin down the culprits.

Media reports say that a group of 14 officials are involved in the malpractice. Reportedly, these officials have also cheated other union ministers like Ananth Kumar and G M Siddeswara by producing inflated bills.
