Well, India never made it to the World Cup final. But like the millions of Indian fans, Star Sports were hoping that they would as they had prepared a smashing ‘Mauka’ ad before the semi-final.

The ad was never released since India lost to Australia in the semi-final, but here’s your chance to watch it.

This ad was made before India VS Australia Semi… by PTVSports

And here’s a quick recap of all the ‘Mauka’ ads so far.

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan features in the latest edition of the Mauka series, and this time, they’re all cheering for a different sport.

With the World Cup coming to an end, it’s time to turn our attention to Kabaddi and cheer for the traditional Indian sport. Enjoy this new video!

That’s right, yet another Mauka video is out. And Star Sports have returned to the earlier theme of World vs India. The unfortunate Pakistan fan has returned with a bit of confidence after Pakistan’s resurgence in form. And he leads the fans of the rest of the world against the Indians in this lyrical jugalbandi. Watch and enjoy!

For those of you who are new to the ‘Mauka’ phenomenon,  here’s a bit of history to bring you up to date.

By beating Ireland, India didn’t just extend their winning run to 5 straight games at this World Cup. They’ve also done Pakistan a favour as the win gives the arch-rivals a golden ‘Mauka’ to qualify for the quarter-finals by winning their final group game.

Not surprisingly, the new Mauka ad cashes on this fact, and the now famous Pakistani fan is back donning the green jersey with his newfound hope. Check out the ad to find out yourself.

Star Sports had already raised our excitement levels by releasing a teaser of the new Mauka ad before the India vs West Indies game. It did threaten to backfire for a while during India’s chase, but the Men in Blue didn’t let them down this time either.

As soon as they completed the victory and secured a place in the quarter-finals, the sports broadcaster released the full video we had been eagerly waiting for. And this one doesn’t disappoint one bit. Find out for yourself.

The clip released right after India’s win over UAE featured sort of a preview of India’s next match against West Indies.

The response to the India vs UAE promotional ad is already out and the poor Pakistani guy supporting each of India’s opponents is in for some more mockery. The video, done by YouTube group Teen Pathar, is an anticipatory celebration of India’s expected win against UAE on Saturday. Find out yourself.

And for those who don’t know what fuss is all about, here’s a history of the ‘Mauka’ videos.

Well, first there was India vs Pakistan, then there was India vs South Africa and then there was the response to India vs South Africa.

If you thought that would be end of the ‘Mauka’ saga, you were wrong.

Following India’s comprehensive, first ever victory over South Africa in the World Cup, Star Sports was ready with its latest installation of the popular ‘Mauka’ series. And this time, the whole world is up against Team India, or as the ad refers to it, it’s literally a world war! Check out the hilarious new commercial.

Prior to this, in response to Star Sports’ sequel of the original India vs Pakistan ‘Mauka’ ad, a YouTube comedy group called Be YouNick came up with a hilarious video of their own.

Before this, Star Sports’ campaign leading up to the high-voltage India-Pakistan encounter turned out to be a resounding success after Team India’s crushing win over their arch-rivals on Sunday.

The original promo ahead of the big game featured a Pakistani fan desperately waiting to burst his firecrackers every time the two giants meet in the World Cup. But he is left disappointed every single time as his team loses to their bitter rivals.

For those of you who missed the original ad, here it is.

Following the success of the first campaign, the channel came up with a sequel, building up to India’s next World Cup game against South Africa. In contrast to their record against Pakistan, India have lost to the Proteas in all of their three previous meetings.

In the second installment, we see that the tables have turned and it’s Indian fans, who are looking for a ‘mauka’ to beat South Africa for the very first time in a World Cup.

Here’s the cleverly done video.

The sports broadcaster has sure taken competition quite sportingly. Will there be more response videos? We sure hope so!
