Reinforcing late Kalabhavan Mani’s brother Ramakrishnan’s doubts over Mani’s natural death, Manorama News published that Mani’s viscera report revealed the presence of an insecticide Chlorpyrifos (apart from methanol and ehtanol) in his internal organs.

Ramakrishnan, in a television interview held on Thursday, had raised concerns over the circumstances of his brother’s death.

“How come Mani alone fell sick after consuming alcohol which had Methyl and not anyone else who drank along with him?” Ramakrishnan asked.

Mani died at a private hospital in Ernakulam on 6 March.

The sleuths observed that the scene at which Mani had consumed alcohol had been deliberately tidied, as the place was clean the following morning. They had interrogated Mani’s domestic helpers Arun, Vipin and Murugan regarding the same.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of police officers interrogated actor and TV anchor Sabu aka ‘Tharikada’ Sabu on Thursday and recorded his statement. Sabu and actor Jaffer Idukki were present at Mani’s residence on the eve of his death. He said that Mani hadn’t consumed alcohol until both had left the residence.

Several online news reports, shared in the WhatsApp circles, stated that the news channel had confirmed Sabu’s involvement in Mani’s death. However, the private news channel rejected claims of having broadcast such news.

Sabu told reporters that he would file complaint against people involved in circulating fake news about him. The news channel too is reportedly ready to drag the miscreants to the court.
