Watch: Australian surfer Mick Fanning miraculously escapes a shark attack in South Africa

World Surf League released shocking footage from the J-Bay Open final, during which defending champion Mick Fanning was very fortunate to survive a shark attack in South Africa, where the competition was held.

After being knocked off his surfboard, Mick desperately tried to kick the shark away and escape. The organizers were quick to realise the danger and sound an alarm. Mick was soon surrounded by rescue boats and managed to escape without any injury. The tournament was subsequently called off.
