Watch: ‘Maari’ trailer is all about Dhanush, the sexy gangsta
Handlebar moustache, gold-rimmed goggles, gaudy shirts, gold chains and truckloads of swag – that’s Dhanush for you in the just-released trailer of his next film, Maari.
Directed by Balaji Mohan, who gave us the hugely watchable Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi and Vaayai Moodi Pesavum – both frothy romances – Maari promises to be a non-stop action flick about a Chennai slum boy-turned-local don, who’s more funny than menacing. And comedy, we all know, is something Dhanush is brilliant at.
The first look makes Maari seem like a formula flick of cops vs don and his comic sidekicks, lots of fights and romantic interludes. But what it also shows for certain is that Dhanush will turn it into something refreshingly different with his superb acting skills and unique style.
