This 8- week old kitten got its name from the two black stripes that look like “eyebrows” and give it a perennially concerned look.

The kitten’s human owners, Andy and Caroline, live in Bolton, Greater Manchester. Besides the kitten’s internet name, they have also christened him Gary after Take That star Gary Barlow from the ’90s band. They thought Barlow wore the same kind of expression when he hit the high notes!

Andy Entwistle, the owner of the cat, told the Daily Mail in a recent interview how the term ‘concerned cat’ came about.

“When he was born there were just these two little black blotches on his forehead. As he grew they got bigger and started to spread out. We started saying how confused he looked so I penned him ‘Concerned Kitten’ and it’s just stuck.”

However, contrary to what his eyebrows might suggest, Gary isn’t exactly ‘concerned’ about too many things.

“Concerned Kitten literally does not have a care in the world, despite his anxious look,” Entwistle told Huffington Post.

Gary was born to the couple’s cat Luna, and from the litter, they just could not get themselves to part ways with him or his sister. The eyebrows that you now see were originally two blotches that developed into stripes as the kitten grew.

Here’s a little video featuring the cute kitten.

Concerned Kitten is already making the rounds of memes on the internet and is sure to give Grumpy Cat a run for his money.
