10-year-old girl of Indian origins bags ‘Child Genius 2016′ title in UK

Do you know the meaning of the word ‘Eleemosynary’? This 10-year-old girl of Indian origin did and thereby was selected as Britain’s brightest child of the year.

Rhea won the quiz show ‘Child Genius 2016′ hosted in Channel 4 to be hailed the brightest child in UK. The ten-year-old genius spelled the word ‘eleemosynary’ which means – relating to charity.

Rhea had moved to the UK with her family about six years back. She entered the finale of the show after giving six correct answers. Though another contestant Saffy tied with Rhea, the latter correctly spelled the word ‘eleemosynary’ to claim the title.

The show’s quiz-master Richard Osman who, described this year’s show as the “the greatest final in the history of Child Genius.”

However, the child’s mother Sonal was branded ‘too pushy’ by the audience of the show as she had intervened in the quiz  to demand why one of her daughter’s answers was hailed as incorrect. Following this judges of the contest agreed that  the question was too general and awarded Rhea a point

Rhea wishes to pursue higher studies in medicine in Oxford University.
