Through Goddard Internship programme NASA selects five of the best in the world and fund their entire studies after school.

The class 12 student from West Bengal has got a full scholarship at the Oxford University where she would pursue her graduation , post graduation and PHD as a NASA faculty in Aerospace Engineering.

Her paper on the black hole theory and how it can be used to create a time machine got her NASA’s attention. She had posted the paper in NASA’s website earlier. An impressed NASA sent out a mail with an offer to her father Pradip Mukherjee.

According to NASA’s letter, Sataparna would be an employee-cum-researcher. She will work for their earth science and technology development programme at London Astrobiology Centre of Oxford University.

“My theory on black hole will be my PhD paper. I can’t give more details as I’m bound by confidentiality clause. I am thrilled to have got this opportunity. I will also work as a researcher at NASA’s London centre,”  Sataparna told Mumbai Mirror. Her internship is scheduled to begin from June this year.

“Sataparna, isn’t extraordinary in her studies, though she has always been among the toppers in her class.” Sataparna’s father was quoted by Mumbai Mirror.

“She scored 88 per cent in her 10th exam. She is interested in science and loves writing. Maybe a blend of these disparate subjects worked for her.”
