Bangalore youth hacked to death for saying ‘Hi’ on Facebook!

A 24-year-old youth was allegedly kidnapped and later murdered by his friends over a Facebook message.

According to a report in Bangalore Mirror (BM), the incident took place in Chikkalaja police station limits in Bangalore on Monday night.

Murdered youth Arun Rao, a resident of Hunsemarenahalli, was a friend of the accused Sandeep.

According to a report in The Times of India, he was killed for replying ‘Hi Shishya’ to his friend Ajith’s message to Sandeep via Facebook. While, the word ‘Shishya’ means ‘disciple’ in Kannada it also implies ‘camp follower’.

Arun’s allegedly insulting remark sparked an argument between the two, which later escalated into a quarrel between him and Sandeep’s friends.

When the issue worsened, Arun’s mother Amravathi intervened and had him sent off to her sister’s place in Chennai for two weeks to avoid further trouble. Arun returned to the city on February 26. But on Monday, Sandeep and his accomplices visited Arun’s home and took him out to speak with him.

According to a BM report, when Amravathi stepped out to check on Arun, she found him being roughed up by the group. Despite her efforts to help him, the group abducted him in a car that bore the registration number KA-50-A-2128.

Arun’s brother later found Arun severely injured near Bagalur cross. Arun who was stabbed in the abdomen multiple times, later succumbed to injuries at the Baptist hospital.

It is learned that Arun was an employee at a cargo firm at the Kempegowda International Airport in Devanahalli. Sandeep was his acquaintance from college. Chikkalaja police have made a few arrests in connection with the case. The real reason behind the gruesome murder is yet to be discovered.
