Anushka Sharma: Anushka Sharma turned into a businesswoman in 2014 when she established her own film production and distribution company called Clean Slate Films with her brother Karnesh Sharma. After producing the acclaimed film NH10 in 2015, Anushka is now producing Phillauri, which will release in 2017.
Priyanka Chopra: To promote regional movies and new talents such as writers, actors, directors and technicians, Priyanka started her production company Purple Pebble Pictures in 2015. Although her first three ventures, a Bhojpuri film, a Marathi film and a Punjabi film failed to create waves in the industry, she will now produce a Bollywood film, to be directed by Madhur Bhandarkar.
Deepika Padukone: After ruling the Bollywood film industry for a couple of years in a row, Deepika is now all set to make her Hollywood film debut soon, working on projects in the West alongside Bollywood films. But that’s not it. The actress has often showed interest in starting a production house of her own, and is thinking of taking it up seriously now as she is reading scripts to roll her first project soon.
Sonam Kapoor: Sonam might have focussed only on acting till now, but with sister Rhea at the helm of her latest project, we hear that Sonam is also interested in the filmmaking aspect of movies as she hopes to put her experience to good use and turn producer soon.
Sonakshi Sinha: The latest entrant in the bandwagon of actresses turning producers. The actress confirmed it when she spoke to the media recently and said, “That is the next step, given my experience in the industry. I was waiting for a story that appeals to me strongly. I want to back films that have performance-oriented roles.”
