On December 6, last year, Adam Levine and his merry band of boys that make up the super-popular Maroon 5, drove around Los Angeles, intending to “crash as many weddings” as they possibly could, to get footage for their latest music video, ‘Sugar’.

The result: unadulterated joy, surprise and the occasional tear.

So, how did Maroon 5 pulls this off? Was the video staged? It was, partly.

“Only the grooms knew in each case,” a Maroon 5 representative told Entertainment Tonight.

However, there is no confirmation over whether the grooms “disclosed it to their bride and wedding party”.

“They had stages set up for their actual wedding band already. All we did was some simple continuity changes to match each one as best we could.”

Adam Levine, the band’s frontman, told People Magazine in a press conference, “It was an out of body experience. I had no idea I would be affected by the overwhelming reactions we received from the couples and guests. Being able to create an unforgettable experience for several people was the highlight of it all.”
