Actress Bhaama took to Facebook claiming that she was outrightly cheated and turned into a scapegoat after rumours that she had allegedly dropped out of an inauguration ceremony for not receiving the promised remuneration surfaced on social media platforms last week earlier last week.

Bhaama termed the rumor “fake news” and claimed that she hadn’t dropped out but did, in fact, attend the event even though she wasn’t paid the entire amount.

She said that one Sreejith Rajamani, who introduced himself as the Managing Director of Unique Models and Celebrity Management, invited her for the function.

“According to the terms I was supposed to be paid Rs 2.5 lakhs for inaugurating the shop. Out of this an amount of Rs 1 lakh was promised as advance. The rest of the amount was promised to be handed over in cash before the inaugural function. But only an amount of Rs 15000 came to my account as advance. But as a professional, I deemed it as my duty to attend the function and I expected that the promised amount would be handed over when I reach the premises for the function,” she wrote on Facebook.

However, according to the actress, Sreejith wasn’t present at the venue and she was also unable to contact him.

“To add to my woes those who organized the function told me that Sreejith Rajamani had already borrowed an amount of Rs. 50000/- towards my remuneration. I was startled to learn that this person had misled the organizers by saying that I demanded only Rs. 1 lakh for the function,” she added.

She called the incident “an act of double-crossing” and said that she was “blatantly cheated”.

Bhaama even warned her colleagues in the film industry so as to prevent them from being misled.
