Mumbai police went on high alert after a group of suspicious men with firearms were spotted by a bunch of teenagers.

Maharashtra Director General of Police Satish Mathur said, “Two students informed us that they saw suspicious men in Uran. While one student claimed that he spotted one person, the other claimed to have seen five persons.”

Sketch of the potential suspect was made using the description given by the student and published in newspapers across the country.

However, an Odisha news daily called Sambad published the sketch of a person looking exactly like journalist Rajdeep Sardesai.

Sardesai himself spotted this and commented about them in a series of tweets: “

“Just saw a Odhiya newspaper Sambad puts up my sketch as a terror suspect based on RW Twitter gang mischief. If not war, these guys will kill! Photo shopped pics, lies, fake reporting, abuse: what next will this bhakt army stoop to on Twitter? And who will call their diabolical bluff?” he wrote.

The paper later apologised to the journalist on Twitter and have also updated the sketch in their epaper. They published an apology in its daily edition.
