Britain might be entering a serious rodent crisis, as pest control experts suspect that over 200 million rats will overrun towns and cities this summer.

Many of these rodents have become immune to rat poison and have mutated into 2 feet long giant rats. Reportedly, the rats are feeding on shop-counter poisons that are making them bigger and stronger with improved immunity. These rats are now capable of carrying major diseases including Weil’s disease.

Recently, a baby in Aldershot, Hants, was attacked by a mutant super rat. The horrified parents rushed their child to the doctor to check whether the rat had passed on any deadly germs.

They even appealed to the Rushmoor Borough Council against the landlord for bad housing conditions. After hearing the complaint, the council ordered the landlord to carry out all the necessary repairs and improvements to the house. This order included getting rid of the rats.

Meanwhile, there are growing concerns that these super rats maybe moving to Oldham, Burton and South Derbyshire.

People are trying to take care of the rodent problem themselves by using shop-counter poisons, which in turn is making things worse. According to the British Pest Control Association, rats need to be dealt with by professionals who carry strong poisons that are not generally available to the public.
