Prince William and Kate Middleton’s #RoyalVisitIndia: Days 3 and 4
On 12 April, Kate and William’s visit focused on non-profit organisations in India such as the Salaam Baalak Trust where they were exposed to the ‘heartbreaking detail of the kids’ lives and the permanent dangers of becoming victims of child prostitution, human trafficking and sexual and physical abuse.’ Later that day, the couple met women rights’ advocates in New Delhi. The Duke and Duchess also participated in a lunch with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Prince William and the Indian prime minister then discussed the matter of ‘Tata-Steel-opting-out-of-British-lands-and-possible-British-unemployment-crisis’. The royals then flew to Assam. They visited the Kaziranga National park to spot the endangered Rhinoceros Unicornis, the Indian one-horned rhino. They also witnessed the Bihu festival (Assamese new year) celebrations.
