Review Central: Roy, strictly for die-hard Ranbir Kapoor fans
There were high expectations from Roy, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez. Vikramjit Singh, making his directorial debut, promised a romantic thriller and an off-the-beaten-track story. Did he deliver?

Agreed, there are several slow films that aren't necessarily boring. Can't say the same for #Roy

Roy is a painful trudge through acres of pretentious hollowness. Neither the two dapper leading actors nor an eager-to-please heroine in a double role can rescue the film from its inexorable downhill trundle. Read more
Our verdict
We’ve come to expect a great deal from Ranbir Kapoor. What’s more debutant director Vikramjit Singh cast him in a romantic thriller with a seemingly intriguing plot. But ‘slow’, ‘boring’, ‘painful’, ‘pretentious’ are what the early reviews are saying. One viewer described it as ‘a train wreck in slow motion’. Avoid, we think. There are far better movies to watch on Valentine’s Day.
