This cheap device can convert any laptop screen into touchscreen

Are you still fretting over that fact that you weren’t able to afford a touchscreen laptop? Stop it, there is a solution on the way. A Sweden based company called Neonode has come up with a device called AirBar, which can convert any laptop screen into a touchscreen.

The USB plug and touch device, which is already out for Pre-order is currently only available for 13.3, 14, 15.6 inch screen size laptops and supports Window 7,8 and 10. The company is reportedly working on making it compatible with Mac OS.

The AirBar, which sits beneath the laptop screen installs drivers automatically once plugged into the USB port.  Once the driver are installed, it will project an invisible light on the laptop screen. Any disturbance in this light will result will result touch input.

Since the device uses light sensing technology to enable touch, any object, like a pencil or a stick can be used. The AirBar, which made its debut At CES January 2016, is now up for pre-order with a price tag of 49$ (Rs. 3,250 approximately). However, the company has not specified on when the device will start shipping.
