8. Don- The Chase Begins Again (2006)

If Amitabh Bachchan was flamboyant in the 1978 version of the movie, King Khan was charm personified in its remake. The girls were all over him, and the villainous shade returned to screen after many years. With three leading ladies at his side (Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor and Isha Koppikar), Khan in a double role again, was chivalry and evil all in one and won the audience’s awe.

Don 2 that followed in 2011 also did great business at the box office.

9. Chak De India! (2007)

Away from all the glitz and glam, and the image of a romantic hero, Shah Rukh Khan jumped into new waters. As the coach of an all girls hockey team, the commercial actor turned into a serious  and mature artist with this movie. If the Badshah could make the women go week in the knees with his romantic gestures, he proved formidable and respect worthy as the serious and dedicated sports coach (without a romantic angle anywhere in the movie!!!).

10. My Name is Khan (2010)

Affected by Asperger’s Syndrome, his character in the movie tries to prove that his name being Khan, doesn’t make him a terrorist. Set during the time of the 9/11 attack and it’s aftermath, the movie revolved around the discrimination innocent Muslims faced, at the time. Cast away by his own family, Khan brilliantly portrays the role of an innocent Muslim with a personal disability, who has to face the ire of people for crimes committed by religious fanatics.
