Don’t we all love the internet! Lately, we have got to see many old gems from the archives which surfaced on the internet, showing the lives of actors of today before they became superstars. We saw a young, geeky Varun Dhawan on a show with his entire family paying a tribute to daddy David Dhawan. We also saw a young and nervous Nargis Fakhri auditioning for the first time for America’s Next Top Model.
And now, we have come across a very old but cute video of a young Sonakshi Sinha. All her fans are aware of the great transformation Sonakshi underwent before becoming a Bollywood actress. Sonakshi, who was an awkward, plump teenager, lost a lot of weight and transformed into the beautiful actress we see today.

The video is from an award function of 1999, when Karan Johar made his debut as a director with the film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and the movie won every big award that year. It was not just Karan Johar who won award for his direction, every actor also won an award for their performances, including Shahrukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukherjee, and even Salman Khan, who had made a guest appearance in the movie.
So at the Zee Cine Awards, veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha and director Subhash Ghai were on the stage to announce the winner for the Best Director, when the young and extremely shy Sonakshi tagged along with him. Subhash Ghai announced Sonakshi as his niece, calling her Shatrughan’s sweet daughter, who is more beautiful than her father, but can’t say whether she is more intelligent than him! He gave her the opportunity to announce the winner, which she did in shuddh Hindi, and also presented the award.
