Everyone has their share of gaffes. President George Bush and Vice President Dan Quayle undoubtedly can’t be matched. But President Barack Obama, though not in the same class, is not far behind either.

As the President heads for India, we bring you his top ten blush moments. Take a laugh!

1. What was Obama’s weakest subject in school? Geography, for sure!

In 2008, during an election campaign stop, Obama said, “I’ve now been in 57 states — I think one left to go.” (The US has 51 states)

2. Obama mixes it up

In 2011, while lauding the American troops at Fort Drum, New York for their accomplished deployments in Afghanistan and Iraq, President Obama mixed up a soldier’s name. He said, “A comrade of yours, Jared Monti, was the first person who I was able to award the Medal of Honour to who actually came back and wasn’t receiving it posthumously.” Sgt. 1st Class Jared Monti was killed in Iraq in 2006. Staff Sgt. Sal Giunta was the first living recipient of the Medal of Honour.

3. When Obama looked really back …

In 2011, during his trip to London’s Westminster Abbey, President Barack Obama signed the guest book with the wrong year. He dated it 24 May, 2008!

4. No Google translator for the president

In 2009 April, during one of his several trips overseas, Obama said, “I don’t know what the term is in Austrian for wheeling and dealing.” Austrian is not a language, Mr. President!

5. Mr. President, 10,000-9,998=Kansas  casualty!

In 2007, President Barack Obama botched up the casualty numbers of the devastating tornado that hit Kansas. He said, “In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died,, an entire town destroyed.” The actual deaths at the time he was speaking was about two.

6. When Obama took his eye off the ball

During an appearance on a popular American TV show, President Obama made an insensitive comment saying, “No, no.  I have been practising … I bowled a 129.   It’s like-it was like Special Olympics, or something.”  Later, he called an apologised to the head of the Special Olympics.

7. A matter of faith

Is this why most Americans are unsure about the President’s faith? In a 2008 interview, Obama said, “What I was suggesting – you’re absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith,” before the interviewer corrected him saying, “your Christian faith.”

8. Benefits of Obamacare explained

The President thinks that the Obamacare is inefficient. During a heathcare debate he explained the benefits, “The reforms we seek would bring greater competition, choice, savings and inefficiencies to our health care system.”

9. When the president misspoke

While speaking to the Congressional Black Caucus in 2011, Barack Obama said, “If asking a billionaire to pay the same tax rate as a Jew – as a janitor – makes me a warrior for the working class, I wear that with a badge of honor.”

10. No teleprompter = no clue!
